Our mission is to enrich the lives of each of our students by providing the highest quality music lessons, tailoring each lesson to meet that students individual learning needs, all while keeping a fun and enjoyable learning environment.
About Suzuki Flute Lessons
David Zagelow opened the Evergreen Suzuki Flute Studio, and the Evergreen Suzuki Institute in 2003 and has been teaching flute ever since. David started as a Suzuki student himself in 1985. In 1998 David went on to receive his Bachelors of Music in Flute Performance from Central Washington University and then in 2003 David became a certified Suzuki instructor and then in 2009 he became a certified Musik Garten instructor. David has studied with Kenichi Ueda, Dr. Hal Ott, Daniel Rangel, and Autumn Woods Keller. David has played with numerous groups throughout his career including the Skagit Symphony, Willow Ensemble of Boston, the CWU Flute Choir, and the CWU Wind Ensemble. He also performed a solo at the 2002 National Flute Convention in Washington D.C. David now teaches Suzuki flute lessons in Whatcom and Skagit Counties.
About Piano Lessons
Joanna Zagelow’s piano career started in 1985 when she was only five years old. In 1996 she opened her own piano studio with great success and is now a full time piano teacher. Joanna has always had a dedication to being the best teacher she can be and in 2008 she received the honor of becoming state and nationally certified with the Music Teachers National Association. Joanna has studied with Linda Wilson, Shirley Haley, and Nancy Wilson. Joanna is an active member of the Skagit Valley chapter of the Music Teacher Association and currently serves as their treasurer. Joanna teaches in Skagit and Whatcom Counties.
About Musik Garten Classes
Evergreen Music Studios is now offering Musik Garten Classes in Bellingham, Mount Vernon, and LaConner. Musik Garten is an early childhood music program designed for children ages Newborn to 9 years of age. If you have been looking for a fun, family oriented music program for you and your child then Musik Garten is for you. Scholarship Information
The Evergreen Music Studio wants every child to have the opportunity to study piano or flute. That is why we started the Evergreen Music Studios Scholarship Program. This Scholarship provides students who could not otherwise afford piano or flute lessons the opportunity to study at the Evergreen Music Studios. The Scholarship is based on the financial need of the student and his/her effort and desire to learn. If you think you or someone else might be eligible for the scholarship you can download an application below. If you would like to sponsor a piano or flute student through the Evergreen Music Studio Scholarship Program please contact David or Joanna Zagelow by email.
